Established in 1902, the City of Sarasota sits along the Gulf of Mexico in Sarasota County. The city covers approximately 15 square miles of land, including North Sarasota, downtown Sarasota, Lido Beach, and North Siesta Key. While permanent residential population is approximately 55,000, the city of Sarasota is a major hub for businesses and visitors alike and balloons to over 100,000 daily.
Sarasota boasts cultural sites such as the Ringling Museum of Art, Sarasota Opera House, Sarasota Ballet, and Asolo Repertory Theatre. Sarasota is also the home to Ed Smith Stadium, the Baltimore Orioles spring training facility. The Ringling Bridge is iconic to the Sarasota skyline along with the condominium buildings that line US 41 along the bayfront and attracts walkers, runners, and bicyclists who wish to take in the views as they go over the bridge.
