The Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA), in conjunction with the Florida Police Accreditation Coalition (FLA-PAC), met on Thursday, June 29, 2023, in Orlando and awarded the Sarasota Police Department with re-accreditation status.

6th Annual Sarasota Police Department ‘Pack the Patrol Car’ School Supply Drive July 19th – August 2nd

Murder suspect arrested by Sarasota Police
The Sarasota Police Department and U.S. Marshals Service have arrested 24-year-old Dorian Brooks. Both agencies responded to a residence in the 5100 block of Old Bradenton Road, Sarasota, around 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Brooks was arrested around 10:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Pernell Ware, 46, of Bradenton, has been arrested and is facing several felony charges. Ware was wanted on a felony warrant for Trafficking Cocaine of 28 grams or more but less than 200 grams.

United States Postal Service Employee Arrested & Facing Felony Charges for Stealing Mail
Anabel Ossombi, 27, of Bradenton, has been arrested and is facing several felony charges, including criminal use of personal identification (over 30 victims), scheme to defraud (over $50,000), and money laundering. Ossombi has been employed by the United States Postal Service (USPS) since May 2022.
