Sarasota Police Attempt to Identify Theft Suspect
Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying a theft suspect who gained access to a business in the 300 block of John Ringling Boulevard, Sarasota, and stole a painting and artistic mirror valued at $2,000.

Sarasota Police Share Back to School Safety Reminders
On Monday, August 12, 2019, classes will resume for students in the City of Sarasota. As students head back to class, the Sarasota Police Department wants to remind drivers there is a zero-tolerance policy for speeding in school zones and passing school buses that have sign signs extended.

Sarasota man arrested & facing 800 counts of Possession of Child Pornography charges
James R. Geenen, 39, of 2190 Webber Street, Sarasota, was arrested on Friday, August 2, 2019, on a warrant. Geenen was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Two men arrested on charges of Human Trafficking
Jeremy Johnson, 28, of Dixie Avenue, Sarasota, and Zolia Williams, 32, of 24th Street, Sarasota have both been arrested and are facing multiple felony charges including human trafficking.

On Friday, July 26, 2019, at approximately 7:10pm, detectives with the Sarasota Police Department arrested Bicente V. Morales, age 43, on a charge of Sexual Battery of a Victim Under 12. Morales is a pastor at the House of Restoration Ministry, 2909 Pershing Avenue, Sarasota.

Man Providing Counseling/Therapy Services under False Pretenses Arrested in Sarasota
Phillip Stutzman, 43, of Lakewood Ranch, has been arrested and is facing three felony charges of Unlicensed Practice of a Healthcare Professional. Three different female victims have come forward. Sarasota Police detectives believe there are additional victims.
